my Australian friend, Katherine, calls it fairy floss. fairy floss! there definitely is a magical quality to cotton candy. the sweet, sticky smell. the instant transportation to childhood--the best parts of childhood--carnivals, county fairs, the circus, amusement parks, baseball games. it's pretty to look at and fun to eat. pure sugar and air. what's not to love?
